Telephone Operator – Guest Services

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and professional Telephone Operator to join the guest services team at our Aloft hotel in Abu Dhabi. In this full‑time position you will be the first point of contact for guests calling the hotel, handling a wide range of requests and ensuring a smooth communication experience.

Key responsibilities

• Answer, record, log and process all guest calls, requests, questions and concerns.
• Operate the telephone switchboard, including wake‑up calls, screening calls, do‑not‑disturb, call forwarding, conference calls, TDD relay and non‑registered guest calls.
• Provide guests with messages, activate/deactivate room message lights and advise on internet access.
• Test communications equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Dispatch bell or valet staff when required and coordinate with other departments to resolve guest issues.
• Maintain accurate records, follow company policies, and uphold confidentiality and professional appearance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior related work experience required.
• Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods and lift objects up to 10 lb.
• Clear, professional verbal communication skills and a courteous demeanor.
• Willingness to follow quality‑assurance standards and safety procedures.

Required skills

• Telephone switchboard operation.
• Basic computer and POS system usage.
• Ability to record and relay messages accurately.
