Test Technician - Remote Sensing

About the role

EDGE is a defence and emerging technologies group headquartered in the UAE, and its REMAYA unit verifies and validates client platforms and systems through test and evaluation. REMAYA operates the secure XRANGE test range, which covers over 350 km2 of land and up to 10,000 ft of airspace. The Test Technician, Remote Sensing, sets up and runs remote sensing solutions for tests at the Abu Al Abyad Test Range and off-site activities involving radars (tracking and surveillance), flight termination systems and telemetry.

Key responsibilities

• Work with assigned test engineers and the team lead on tests requiring tracking radars, flight termination and telemetry.
• Set up and operate the requested test system for the relevant flight tests.
• Give feedback on test procedures to improve safety and reliability.
• Prepare the raw data used in test reports.
• Make sure test equipment is used according to Range documentation.
• Look for ways to improve productivity and safety in your area of expertise.

Required profile

• Diploma in an electrical or electromechanical field.
• Experience assembling and disassembling electronic equipment.
• Arabic speaking.
• Interest in military and defence equipment.
• Willingness to work overtime, ad hoc shifts or on customer sites as needed.
• English proficiency is required for all roles.

Preferred qualifications

• Understanding of radar and telemetry technology.
• Ability to set up and operate radars, telemetry and flight termination equipment.
• Interest in test and evaluation ranges.
