Transport Modeler

About the role

WSP is looking for a highly skilled Transport Modeler to join its Transport Planning & Mobility team in Abu Dhabi. You will support high‑profile modelling and planning projects across the UAE and GCC, providing evidence‑based insights for strategy development and mobility solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Update, refine and manage STEAM model inputs, assumptions and scenarios for transport planning and master‑planning studies.
• Run STEAM model scenarios and conduct testing in line with ITC guidelines.
• Analyse model outputs to inform impact assessments, feasibility studies and policy recommendations.
• Prepare technical reports, modelling summaries and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist senior engineers and project managers to deliver modelling components on schedule and to high technical standards.
• Contribute to data collection, processing, QA/QC and documentation of modelling methodologies.
• Liaise with clients, authorities (including ITC) and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Stay current with best practices, emerging technologies and UAE transport planning guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in transport modelling within consultancy or government sectors.
• Mandatory ITC approval as an authorised STEAM modeler.
• Strong understanding of UAE transport standards, demand modelling principles and calibration/validation methods.
• Experience with ITC TMP & TIS projects; knowledge of Aimsun is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, numerical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary team.
