Vice President Reinsurance Actuary

About the role

Guy Carpenter is looking for a high‑performing Vice President Reinsurance Actuary to join its Actuarial Analytics team in Dubai. You will work across the IMEA region, providing insight‑driven analytics that shape reinsurance strategy and commercial outcomes for general insurance portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with reinsurance brokers to support portfolio strategy, client engagement and business growth initiatives.
• Perform technical assessments on pricing adequacy, volatility, retention optimisation and reinsurance structuring.
• Develop, validate and interpret analytical outputs using actuarial judgment and first‑principles thinking.
• Build and review loss projections, stress scenarios and portfolio performance metrics.
• Translate technical analysis into commercially relevant insights and market‑facing narratives.
• Support the design and optimisation of proportional and non‑proportional reinsurance solutions (quota share, excess of loss, hybrid arrangements).
• Collaborate on client presentations, strategic discussions and renewal negotiations.
• Utilise internal tools such as MetaRisk, portfolio models and bespoke analytical frameworks.

Required profile

• Senior actuarial professional with strong technical expertise and commercial insight.
• Experience delivering high‑impact client engagements and reinsurance analytics across multiple markets.
• Ability to work closely with brokers, clients and regional stakeholders.
• Proven track record of producing robust, governance‑compliant analytical deliverables.
