Visual Arts Teacher - Noya British School

About the role

Aldar Education is recruiting a Visual Arts teacher for Noya British School, its newest flagship school on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, for the Academic Year 27/28. The school delivers a British curriculum with personalised learning in an inclusive, environmentally conscious community.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the curriculum requirements, covering the whole ability range in the class
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and curriculum support staff, and liaise with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists when needed
• Observe and assess students, record progress in Target Tracker and use assessment data to inform planning and intervention
• Give feedback to parents and carers at parent-teacher conferences and other meetings
• Manage the class effectively, follow the school's behaviour policy and act as a positive role model
• Work in a curriculum action group, take part in school events and run a weekly ECA each term
• Communicate with parents and carers about student achievement and well-being through school systems such as CPOMS

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education in Art, or an equivalent field with a PGCE
• At least 1-2 years of teaching art (mandatory)
• Clean enhanced DBS check or police clearance
• Advantages: experience with students whose English is not their first language, recent involvement in extra-curricular activities

Required skills

• Strong teaching experience in the English National Curriculum
• Experience teaching GCSE and A Level Art
• Experience teaching A Level Photography is an advantage
• Ability to teach students for whom English is not their first language
