Waiter, Sunvibe (Pool & Beach)

About the role

Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai, is looking for a Waiter to join its Sunvibe (Pool & Beach) team. The outlet sits in a beachfront setting overlooking the Arabian Gulf and the city skyline, and the waiter is responsible for delivering service to guests in line with the hotel's service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Explain the outlet's concept and food and beverage offerings to guests.
• Keep mise en place ready shift to shift and during service, including cleaning front and back of house and polishing and assembling equipment.
• Operate the POS to process food and beverage orders and handle billing and cashiering in line with hotel standards.
• Process gift cards and other non-cash payments, present dishes to specification and conserve equipment and utensils.
• Pick up and arrange stock such as linen, beverages and dry goods, and keep product knowledge up to date.
• Inform management and kitchen staff of guest preferences or allergies, and support other outlets as assigned.
• Upsell services and products, create memorable moments for guests and ensure satisfaction from arrival to departure.

Required profile

• High school qualification or equivalent preferred; degree or higher national diploma in hospitality/hotel/business management preferred.
• At least 2 years' experience as a waiter/waitress; experience in a high-volume restaurant and in a luxury hotel preferred.
• Ability to work long hours with a focus on operational excellence.
• Team player who communicates well with colleagues and superiors.

Required skills

• Familiarity with restaurant POS and cashiering procedures preferred.
• Knowledge of fine dining and casual dining service standards preferred.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office preferred.
