Waitress

About the role

A full-time waitress is needed at an Accor hotel in Dubai. The role promotes efficiency, courtesy and a high standard of social skills, supports good inter-departmental relations and represents the hotel positively to guests and colleagues. The waitress assists the Assistant Manager / Restaurant Manager and delivers sincere, warm and enthusiastic service.

Key responsibilities

• Set up the food and beverage outlet in time for service, according to meal settings and opening hours.
• Contribute to meeting the monthly revenue budget and controlling operational expenses.
• Attend regular training on guest care, product knowledge, grooming standards and up-selling.
• Follow the supervisor's instructions and duty shifts, including cleaning, polishing equipment and table setting.
• Present menus, give recommendations, receive and place orders and handle payments.
• Greet guests on arrival, seat them through the hostess and make sure the entrance is never left unattended.
• Keep uniforms and grooming in order, and stay familiar with all menus and promotions.
• Report cleanliness and maintenance issues to the supervisor and equipment problems to the Maintenance Department.
• Handle guest complaints as instructed or consult the supervisor.
• Prepare mise-en-place for whole-day service, keep side stations clean and organized, and anticipate customers' needs.
• Work closely with the hostess and cashier, making sure bills are charged correctly in the microsystem.
• Take part in training and development schemes, attend departmental briefings and help in other parts of the hotel when required.
• Follow fire, hygiene, health and safety rules, the Operational Standards Manual and the sustainability commitments, and safeguard confidential information.
