Welding Site Inspector – Power Generation Project (Dubai)

About the role

We are seeking a Welding Site Inspector to support a confidential power generation IPP project in Dubai. The role involves overseeing welding activities, ensuring compliance with procedures, and coordinating non‑destructive testing throughout construction and commissioning phases.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect welding of piping, structural steel, supports and related mechanical works.
• Verify welding procedure specifications (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR), welder qualifications, consumables, material traceability, fit‑up, pre‑heat, welding parameters and post‑weld requirements.
• Coordinate and review NDT activities including radiographic, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, penetrant and visual inspections.
• Monitor pressure testing, hydro‑testing, reinstatement and test pack completion.
• Raise non‑conformance reports, observations and punch‑list items as needed.
• Maintain welding inspection records, weld maps, NDT records and quality documentation.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers, QA/QC team and EPC contractors.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of welding inspection experience.
• CSWIP 3.1, AWS‑CWI or equivalent certification preferred.
• Experience in power, oil & gas, utilities, industrial plants or EPC projects.
• Strong knowledge of welding codes, NDT methods and QA/QC documentation.
