Wintel Engineer – Windows Server & Virtualization

About the role

We are looking for a Wintel Engineer to join our Abu Dhabi team, responsible for the day‑to‑day administration and support of Windows Server and virtualization platforms in a 24 × 7 production environment. The role ensures the stability, security and availability of the infrastructure that underpins critical business applications.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) across production and non‑production environments, including builds, hardening, CMDB updates and patching.
• Perform VMware, Hyper‑V and Nutanix AHV lifecycle operations, including provisioning, monitoring and decommissioning of virtual machines.
• Manage backup, restore and disaster‑recovery processes using tools such as Veeam, Commvault or Rubrik.
• Support core services – Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file and print services.
• Monitor server health, resolve L2 incidents within SLA and participate in on‑call rotation.
• Maintain documentation, run‑books and audit evidence to demonstrate compliance.
• Execute patch management via WSUS, SCCM or Intune and develop PowerShell scripts for automation.
• Utilise monitoring solutions (SCOM, SolarWinds, PRTG) and ITSM platforms (ServiceNow or equivalent).

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of hands‑on Windows Server administration in production and virtualised environments.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• Exposure to ITIL‑based operations and SLA‑driven support.
• Willingness to work in shifts and participate in an on‑call rotation.
• Relevant Microsoft or VMware certifications are a plus.
