Account Opening Officer

About the role

The Account Opening Officer is responsible for processing new account requests across multiple business lines, including WBG, IBG, FI, NBFI, Community, Escrow and international accounts from Iraq and the UK. The role ensures all documentation is complete, compliant and processed within agreed time standards to support operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Process account opening requests, verify documentation, and maintain CRM workflow for UAE and international accounts.
• Ensure KYC/EDD compliance, especially for high‑risk jurisdictions, and obtain necessary approvals.
• Perform end‑to‑end account creation using systems such as AMBIT, CRM, Mosaic and Phoenix.
• Coordinate with service teams, send reminders, and submit documents to the Central Control Unit.
• Reconcile accounts, address discrepancies, and escalate long‑standing issues.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills with the ability to interact at executive levels.
• Excellent written and oral communication, presentation and facilitation abilities.
• Good knowledge of basic banking principles, especially account opening procedures.
• Proficiency with general office systems, PC operations and MS Office applications.
