Accountant – Contracting/Construction (UAE)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant with a strong background in the contracting and construction sector in the UAE. The role involves managing day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance with local regulations, including VAT.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle accounting activities – general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations, handle VAT filing, reconciliation and documentation.
• Maintain accurate financial records in line with UAE accounting standards and company policies.
• Support internal audits, prepare audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors.
• Monitor project‑related costs, revenues and margins for construction projects.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cost‑control activities.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external authorities as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in the UAE, preferably in contracting or construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, financial reporting and statutory compliance.
• Proven experience with internal and external audit processes.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
