Accountant / Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for a highly capable Accountant / Financial Controller to take full ownership of our financial operations. This role goes beyond bookkeeping, requiring independent management of the complete accounting cycle, insightful reporting, and strategic decision‑support for the leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle from journal entries to month‑end close, maintaining the general ledger and chart of accounts.
• Prepare monthly Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements and deliver weekly/monthly management reports with actionable insights.
• Build and maintain Excel‑based dashboards for decision‑making, perform variance and job‑cost analyses.
• Track receivables, drive collections, and enforce credit policies across the client portfolio.
• Structure payment cycles, maintain cash‑flow forecasts, and recommend financing and working‑capital improvements.
• Monitor expenses, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and flag project overruns.
• Ensure full UAE VAT compliance, prepare quarterly returns, and coordinate annual audits.
• Provide financial insight for pricing, capital‑expenditure business cases, and act as the financial voice in management discussions.

Required profile

• Strong UAE experience in finance for contracting, maintenance, or fit‑out companies (mandatory).
• Proven ability to work independently without detailed instructions.
• Excellent analytical mindset with a focus on business impact behind every number.
• Experience in building management reporting from the ground up.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for reporting and dashboard creation.
