Accountant – Full‑time, Dubai

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our finance team in Dubai. The role involves maintaining accurate records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with UAE tax regulations. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external auditors to support business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records and timely record all financial transactions.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, pre‑payments, provisions and adjustments.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and perform regular reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial reports such as Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement.
• Assist in month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing activities and management accounts preparation.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable, including supplier and customer reconciliations.
• Process supplier invoices, verify supporting documents and ensure timely payments.
• Monitor customer outstanding balances and follow up on collections.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Produce MIS reports and provide accurate financial information for management review.
• Support cash‑flow monitoring and periodic cash‑flow reporting.
• Assist with VAT compliance, calculations, reconciliations and return preparation in line with UAE FTA requirements.
• Support corporate tax computation, filing and compliance with UAE Federal Tax Authority regulations.
• Maintain fixed‑asset registers and assist with depreciation calculations.
• Maintain inventory records, perform stock reconciliation and valuation.
• Handle payroll accounting, including salary records and overtime calculations.
• Prepare intercompany invoices and reconcile intercompany balances.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide required schedules and documentation.
• Support internal audit requirements and ensure proper documentation of financial records.

Required profile

• 5–8 years proven experience in a similar accounting role within the same industry.
• At least 6 years of experience working in the UAE.
• Good knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and accounting principles.
• Strong understanding of UAE VAT and corporate tax regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
