Accountant (Hotel Finance)

About the role

The Accountant will support Hyatt Place’s Accounting & Finance function, ensuring accurate financial recording, cash management and compliance with internal controls. This role is based in the Dubai hotel and works closely with Front Office, F&B and the finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily revenue transfers from POS systems to the Scala system and record collections, direct debits and journal entries in the General Ledger.
• Run and review daily bank statements, prepare cash reports and reconcile credit‑card transactions.
• Collect, verify and deposit Front Office and F&B cash remittances, and follow up on outstanding bank drafts.
• Conduct operational audits, random checks on discounted transactions and support continuous improvement of internal controls.
• Scan and submit invoices to Cluster Finance, maintain fixed‑asset records and support capital‑expenditure authorisations.
• Coordinate monthly and bi‑annual physical inventories and safeguard contracts, leases and insurance policies.
• Administer hotel credit and collection procedures, handling supplier, guest and employee inquiries.
• Maintain organised filing systems, manage correspondence and support finance projects from the Director of Finance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with POS systems and the Scala revenue platform.
• Experience in General Ledger posting and bank reconciliation.

• Conducting audits and applying internal control standards.
