Accountant – IT Services (5-8 years experience)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our IT services company in Abu Dhabi. The role involves managing financial operations, project‑based accounting, and ensuring compliance with IFRS standards, particularly revenue recognition.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, journal entries, and perform reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including client invoicing for IT services and AMC contracts.
• Execute project accounting tasks such as cost allocation, revenue tracking, and profitability analysis per project.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and MIS dashboards.
• Conduct bank reconciliations, cash‑flow management, and support budgeting and forecasting.
• Ensure accurate financial data entry and integrity within ERP systems.
• Track contract revenue (AMC, SLAs, milestone‑based billing) and monitor operational costs.
• Assist with internal and external audits and ensure compliance with UAE regulations and internal policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of accounting experience in the UAE, preferably within the IT services or technology sector.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP applications.
• Experience in project accounting and service‑based revenue recognition (IFRS 15).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
• Proven track record handling audits and financial compliance.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
