Accountant

About the role

Zahr Freighters is looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to support its finance and accounting operations in Dubai. The role involves handling daily financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with reporting in a fast‑paced freight and logistics environment.

Key responsibilities

• Record and maintain daily accounting transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare and verify invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and journal entries.
• Perform regular bank, supplier and customer reconciliations.
• Assist with UAE VAT calculations, documentation and filing.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, account schedules and management reports.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• Previous experience as an Accountant, preferably in freight forwarding, shipping or logistics.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with UAE VAT and tax requirements.
• Strong numerical, analytical and attention‑to‑detail skills.
