Accountant

About the role

AGS Relocations DMCC seeks a detail‑oriented Accountant to join its Dubai finance team supporting a multinational logistics and relocation group. The role reports to the Finance Manager and involves maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month‑end close, and ensuring compliance with local and group accounting policies.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely month‑end and year‑end close activities.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, vendor documentation, customer billing, collections, and discrepancy resolution.
• Prepare bank reconciliations, monitor cash balances, and support cash‑flow reporting.
• Prepare routine management reports, assist with balance‑sheet and P&L analysis, and support audit and statutory reporting requirements.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, local regulations, and VAT/GST requirements; support internal control activities.
• Handle intercompany and cross‑border transactions and coordinate with international finance teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in general accounting and month‑end close processes within corporate or logistics environments.
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/local GAAP) and experience preparing balance‑sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and formulas, for analysis and reporting.
• Good communication skills for liaising with vendors, customers, and international finance teams.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small finance team.
