Accountant – Multinational Finance Team

About the role

Munich Re is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage day‑to‑day accounting operations for multiple entities within its MedNet Global Health Care Solutions division in Dubai. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with local regulations, and supports strategic decision‑making through detailed analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations for multiple entities, ensuring accurate transaction recording and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and review financial statements—including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements—to deliver timely, accurate reporting.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, overseeing general ledger monitoring, reconciliations, and discrepancy investigations.
• Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts, collaborating with department heads to align financial plans with business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and tax regulations across regions, supporting continuous improvement of accounting policies.
• Coordinate with external auditors, providing required documentation, schedules, and supporting information.
• Maintain and update the ERP system (e.g., Oracle) to guarantee data integrity, accuracy, and completeness.
• Provide financial analysis, management reporting, and ad‑hoc reports to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification is a plus).
• Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a multinational organization.
• Proven experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP, including financial modules.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to analyze large datasets and prepare detailed reports.
• Excellent written and spoken English with effective communication across all organizational levels.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
