Accountant - Odoo

About the role

A finance team in Dubai is looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented Accountant to support day-to-day accounting and financial operations, keep records accurate and help with timely reporting and compliance. The role works closely with the finance team and other departments, using Odoo to keep financial data accurate and organised.

Key responsibilities

• Record and process day-to-day accounting transactions accurately and on time
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor and customer follow-up
• Perform bank, supplier and customer reconciliations
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayments and depreciation
• Support month-end and year-end closing and financial statement preparation
• Prepare and submit UAE VAT returns and support Corporate Tax compliance
• Maintain accounting data in Odoo with proper controls
• Keep audit records and supporting documents and assist external auditors
• Support management with reports, reconciliations and ad hoc analysis

Required profile

• Currently based in Dubai
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in the UAE
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Advantage: professional certification (CPA, ACCA or CMA, part or fully qualified)

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Odoo
• Working knowledge of UAE VAT
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups)
• UAE Corporate Tax knowledge and good knowledge of IFRS are advantages
