Accountant – Payments, VAT & Reporting

About the role

We are seeking an Accountant to support our client’s finance function in Abu Dhabi. The role offers exposure to payments, VAT, reporting and core finance operations within a growing, well‑established organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
• Perform bank, accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliations.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close activities and prepare monthly management reports and financial statements.
• Process and review supplier payments, employee expenses and banking transactions while monitoring cash flow.
• Maintain accurate cash position records and manage AP/AR activities.
• Liaise with vendors, customers and internal stakeholders to resolve finance‑related queries.
• Assist external audits by preparing schedules and required documentation.
• Prepare VAT returns and ensure taxation compliance.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain financial records in the ERP system and contribute to process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CA or CMA are advantageous.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably with strong payment processing and banking operations exposure.
• Good knowledge of taxation, VAT compliance and financial reporting.
• Understanding of IFRS and accounting best practices.
• Based in the UAE and available to start immediately.
