Accountant – Shipping & Logistics (Filipino)

About the role

Nejoum Aljazeera is looking for an experienced Filipino Accountant to join its Finance Department in Sharjah. The role focuses on managing day‑to‑day accounting operations within a shipping and logistics environment, ensuring compliance with UAE financial regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records and prepare journal entries.
• Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP).
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with financial statements.
• Process supplier invoices and customer payments.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
• Assist management with budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.
• Perform other finance‑related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Filipino nationality (mandatory).
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in the UAE.
• Experience in well‑known shipping, freight forwarding, logistics or supply chain companies.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
• Proficiency in handling UAE VAT compliance.
