Accountant – VAT & Financial Reporting

About the role

White Star Contracting is seeking a diligent Accountant specialized in VAT and financial reporting to join its finance team in Dubai. The role involves preparing accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting management with insightful analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Research, analyze and report accounting data to provide financial information to management.
• Prepare asset, liability and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Document financial transactions and maintain accounting controls through policies and procedures.
• Summarize financial status by preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other reports.
• Audit documents to substantiate transactions and reconcile discrepancies.
• Secure financial information via database backups and adherence to internal controls.
• Process payments after verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
• Interpret accounting policies, regulations and ensure compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements.
• Prepare special financial reports by analyzing trends and account information.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in tax, accounting or finance.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Experience with financial reporting requirements and handling multiple legal entities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Tally version 9.
• Strong knowledge of VAT regulations and compliance.
