Accounts Receivable Accountant

About the role

This role manages the company's accounts receivable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of customer invoices, payments and collections. It ensures compliance with financial policies, keeps precise records and supports cash flow management, working with internal departments, customers and external auditors to meet financial reporting deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and extract customer invoice requests from systems or email, verify details against contracts, purchase orders and delivery notes, and coordinate with sales and delivery teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Receive and record customer payments, reconcile customer accounts and prepare payment reconciliation reports for the financial controller.
• Generate monthly accounts receivable ageing reports and follow up on overdue payments and disputes with customers.
• Reconcile customer statements of account, prepare adjustments and submit final reconciliations for approval.
• Complete period-end closing tasks such as invoicing, credits and prepayments, and process refunds and credit notes after verification and approval.
• Enter and book adjustments, and respond to customer queries about invoices, payments and account balances.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, including reconciliations and customer relationship management; UAE experience preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable financial regulations.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organisational skills.

• Proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting tools.
