Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) Expert

About the role

Elia Grid International is expanding its Smart Grids Design & Digitalization team and seeks an ADMS Expert to lead the design, development, and deployment of next‑generation utility management systems. The role combines functional engineering with architecture expertise to align digital technologies with business goals and drive smart‑grid innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Review and implement Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) and related modules such as D‑SCADA, VVO, FLISR, OMS, and DERMS.
• Validate signal point lists, communication protocols (DNP3, Modbus, MQTT) and DER telemetry for system readiness.
• Collaborate with planning and operations teams to analyse network performance and propose modernization measures.
• Support AI‑based load forecasting, EV charging strategies and predictive grid analytics.
• Participate in factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT), substation commissioning and ADMS training for control‑center staff.
• Document system designs, change logs and operator manuals in line with utility quality frameworks.
• Design scalable, secure architectures integrating DERMS, IoT and cybersecurity frameworks.
• Develop real‑time control strategies and automation for MV/LV distribution systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience with ADMS, DERMS, SCADA and grid control.
• Proven experience leading global utility projects and knowledge of grid standards and regulatory mandates.
