Aerospace Maintenance Technician - Slides and Life Rafts

About the role

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, is hiring an onsite Technician in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai. The role covers maintenance and overhaul of aircraft evacuation slides and life rafts, including pressurized cylinders and regulators, and supports other maintenance activities when not working on slides.

Key responsibilities

• Perform major and minor assembly, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, testing and disposition of components and accessories to overhaul slides and life rafts.
• Overhaul pressurized cylinders and regulators, including hydrostatic testing (HST) of bottles.
• Fold and pack evacuation slides into compartments.
• Repair composite compartments and fabrics.
• Follow quality procedures and technical documentation accurately and maintain high quality.
• Comply with Collins Aerospace rules and regulations, including environmental health and safety, ethics, international trade compliance and human resources.
• Report work progress and any failures to meet quality standards to the lead or supervisor.
• Support other maintenance activities in other business units when not overhauling slides.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Typically a high school diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline, with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Ability to use computer systems such as SAP and MS Office to input and retrieve information.
• Availability for overtime, including extended workdays and weekends.
• Willingness to comply with EH&S policies, wear appropriate PPE and attend EH&S training as required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
