Agile Delivery Manager - Airline Operations

About the role

Emirates Engineering is looking for an Agile Delivery Manager to join its Agile Delivery team in Dubai. The role plans, leads, organises and motivates scrum teams, within a Release Train or outside, to deliver high-quality outputs that add value to customers. It may cover several concurrent high-visibility initiatives using agile or hybrid methods across multiple business units.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate key ceremonies such as PI planning and Review, and coach team members to optimise the Release Train team.
• Blend traditional project management with an Agile approach, balancing agility and predictability according to PMI-ACP principles.
• Create a safe environment for raising problems, protect the team with servant leadership, and encourage discussion and conflict resolution.
• Lead supplier engagement and governance, including SoWs, SLA/KPI monitoring and vendor performance, and work with Procurement and Legal on contracts and onboarding of technology partners.
• Drive quality by ensuring the Definition of Done is followed and a sustainable pace is maintained.
• Maintain an agile project management tool (e.g. ScrumDesk, JIRA).
• Support team development, remove roadblocks, mentor team members and attend stand-ups and scrum of scrums.
• Support the Technical Product Manager and the IT Service Manager, and define and run agile governance with continuous improvement and velocity assessments.
• Assist with cost estimation, total cost of ownership, budget control and forecasting, and support RFx phases in procurement.

Required profile

• Degree or honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Computer Science or a similar field, with 8+ years of experience in IT or related fields.
• Proven leadership and project delivery experience in a matrix organisation with global teams for a large organisation.
• Experience in agile delivery within large technology change programmes.
• Certified SAFe and PMI ACP (PMI, Prince 2, CSM desirable), with 5+ years of practical Scrum management.

Required skills

• Software delivery tools such as ServiceNow ITBM, Microsoft Office, JIRA and Confluence.
• Good architectural knowledge of large-scale systems.
• Familiarity with AI concepts and tools, and networking/firewall requirements for HHTs, IoT devices and precision tools are an advantage.
• Ability to communicate specialist information clearly to all stakeholders.
