AI Adoption Program Manager

About the role

The Strategy and Future Department at Zayed University is seeking an AI Adoption Programme Manager to lead the implementation of the university’s Agentic AI Framework, act as the primary liaison with the UAE Government’s national AI Project PMO, and coordinate internal and external stakeholders to achieve AI transformation targets. The role will ensure responsible scaling of AI across academic and operational functions, delivering measurable value aligned with the university’s strategic objectives and the UAE AI Strategy 2031.

Key responsibilities

• Translate the approved AI Framework into a detailed delivery and governance plan aligned with national timelines and reporting requirements.
• Serve as the university’s point of contact with the National PMO, submitting action plans, wave reports and performance data on schedule.
• Consolidate budget and resourcing needs, including vendor costs, and obtain approvals.
• Identify risks, dependencies and operational roadblocks, recommending mitigation strategies to protect delivery timelines.
• Coordinate the RFP, onboarding and management of the AI implementation partner, overseeing technology sourcing, integration and data security.
• Design and roll out role‑based AI literacy and capability‑building programmes for faculty, staff and students, and support an AI Champions network.

Required profile

• Master’s degree with at least 10 years of professional experience, including 6 years in a managerial role.
• Proven experience in higher education, government or regulated public‑sector environments (preferred).
• Certification in programme/project management (e.g., PMP, MSP, PRINCE2) and/or AI‑related certification (preferred).
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams and manage vendor relationships.
