Airbus Fleet Engineer – Avionic Systems

About the role

The Airbus Fleet Engineer – Avionic Systems will join Etihad’s Technical Fleet Management team in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to the Airbus Technical Fleet Manager, the role ensures compliance with CAR‑AIR‑OPS, CAR‑M and CAR‑145 regulations while maintaining the highest airworthiness and safety standards for the fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Review Airbus‑related Airworthiness Directives and mandatory Service Bulletins, assess required modifications and ensure timely compliance.
• Collaborate with OEMs, MROs and internal departments to improve fleet reliability, on‑time performance and cost efficiency.
• Develop business cases for modifications and support decision‑making in the Modification Review Committee.
• Compile Engineering Orders, Special Checks and Additional Engineering Requirements for reliability and safety assessments.
• Support technical projects such as EIS, lease end activities and modification programmes.
• Ensure regular review of TFU/FAIR and issue related advisories.
• Promote a positive safety reporting culture and assist the Lead Engineer in fleet‑management functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics Engineering meeting chartered‑engineer eligibility.
• Minimum 3 years CAMO experience as a Fleet Engineer or 5 years in technical commercial aviation/airline engineering.
• Aircraft B1/B2 type training on A320, A350 or A380 fleet.
