Aircraft Technician – Base Maintenance

About the role

In Base Maintenance, Emirates’ expert engineers deliver comprehensive aircraft checks, inspections and major system repairs for Airbus A380, A350 and Boeing 777, handling cabin retrofits, aircraft deliveries and detailed inspection programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks on Emirates and third‑party aircraft and components in compliance with company procedures and regulations.
• Carry out routine servicing and maintenance of aircraft, engines, and components, including A & C checks, engine changes and landing‑gear changes.
• Ensure safety procedures during fluid replenishment, aircraft refuelling and systems charging.
• Complete component replacements and other maintenance activities as directed, using AMM, IPC, CMM and SRM documentation.
• Support Licensed Aircraft Engineers in troubleshooting, repairs and modifications, and prepare work based on aircraft status.
• Report defects promptly, ensure accurate shift handovers and maintain clean, organised work areas free of FOD.
• Audit and maintain toolboxes, vehicles and equipment, holding a valid Airport Driving Permit and complying with airport safety regulations.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives and departmental projects using RMS/RTC applications.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in aircraft engineering or a related vocational/diploma qualification (12+2 or equivalent) or a graduate degree in engineering.
• Apprenticeship or equivalent training in Aircraft Maintenance with a reputable airline or approved maintenance organisation, and an Engineering Aircraft Maintenance License.
• Minimum two years of on‑the‑job training in an airline or approved maintenance organisation.
• Safety‑sensitive role and PSMP role eligibility.

Required skills

• Interpretation of Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC), Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) and Structural Repair Manual (SRM).
• Execution of A & C checks, engine changes, landing‑gear changes and unscheduled maintenance.
• Troubleshooting, repairs and modifications of aircraft systems.
• Use of RMS/RTC applications for resource allocation and project support.
