Arabic Teacher - Maternity Cover (January 2027)

About the role

Aldar Academies is seeking an MOE teacher of Arabic to join Al Muna Academy in Abu Dhabi on a maternity-cover contract with an immediate start. The academy moved to its new campus in the Saadiyat Lagoons community in August 2025 and now welcomes students from FS1 to Year 8, with plans to extend to Year 13.

Key responsibilities

• Teach according to the MOE syllabus, planning lessons and sequences in the long, medium and short term and adapting them to pupils' needs
• Organize classroom provision and resources, create displays and deliver enjoyable, creative lessons that promote critical thinking
• Assess and observe pupils, record progress in Target Tracker, set targets from prior attainment data and give constructive feedback
• Support SEN (POD), EAL and G&T students through differentiation and liaise with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists when needed
• Facilitate hybrid, distance and face-to-face lessons and embed the school's language for learning and attitudes across the curriculum
• Manage classes effectively, follow school policies on behaviour, safeguarding and child protection, and act as a positive role model
• Work in a curriculum action group, support school events and ECAs, run a weekly ECA each term, and communicate with parents through systems such as CPOMS

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in education specializing in Arabic Language and Islamic Studies and/or a post-teaching qualification
• At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
• Ability to deal professionally with a range of stakeholders, including parents in a diverse, multicultural environment
• Recent and consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities

Required skills

• IT literate and familiar with online technologies for teaching
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize workload and multitask
