Architectural Engineer

About the role

A full-time Architectural Engineer is sought in Abu Dhabi to oversee architectural design, coordination and execution on construction projects. The engineer ensures that architectural works follow approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards and Abu Dhabi authority requirements. Experience of 5-10 years is required, with 3-5 years in the UAE or Abu Dhabi preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Review IFC drawings, specifications and BOQs; prepare shop drawings, architectural details and material submittals
• Coordinate design changes and revisions with consultants and project teams
• Ensure compliance with Estidama, ADCD, ADM/DMT and other Abu Dhabi authority requirements
• Coordinate architectural works with structural, MEP and interior teams, resolve RFIs and design conflicts, and support site teams
• Attend coordination meetings and site inspections
• Ensure works comply with QA/QC procedures and approved ITPs, and assist with consultant inspections, authority approvals and compliance checks
• Support as-built drawings, handover packages, O&M manuals and authority submissions

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering
• 5-10 years of architectural engineering experience in construction projects, with strong experience in Abu Dhabi
• Exposure to residential, commercial, high-rise or mixed-use projects
• Preferred: experience with main contractors, PMCs or consultants in Abu Dhabi, hands-on site experience and familiarity with construction methods and sequencing

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and MS Office
• Knowledge of Estidama, Abu Dhabi authorities and local building regulations
• Ability to prepare accurate shop drawings, submittals and material specifications
• Strong coordination, communication and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
