About the role

The Architectural Inspector ensures that all architectural elements of a construction project meet the required standards, codes, and design specifications. This role involves detailed on‑site inspections, testing of materials, and coordination with project teams to maintain quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of walls, drywall, doors, windows, and other finishes to verify compliance with building codes and project specifications.
• Perform rigorous testing of construction materials and methods to confirm quality and structural integrity.
• Assess field change needs and communicate recommendations to project managers and architects.
• Collaborate with contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to resolve change orders efficiently.
• Execute comprehensive final site inspections, ensuring all architectural elements meet project goals.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports with findings, recommendations, and photographic documentation.
• Review architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure on‑site implementation aligns with design intent.
• Monitor construction progress, identifying potential issues that could affect timelines or quality.
• Verify compliance with local, state, federal building codes, ADA, and OSHA safety regulations.
• Participate in project meetings to provide updates on inspection findings and discuss solutions.
• Mentor and train junior inspectors, sharing best practices in architectural inspection.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in architectural inspection or a similar role.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, and trade practices.
