Area Finance Manager

About the role

The Area Finance Manager safeguards and manages the Church's donated funds in Abu Dhabi, ensuring accurate accounting, internal controls, and compliance with regulatory standards. The role combines team leadership with hands‑on financial tasks such as treasury, reporting, and auditing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of accountants, analysts, supervisors, and clerks, handling staffing, performance, and discipline.
• Assign work, provide training, and resolve unit‑specific financial problems.
• Prepare and review budgets, operating reports, audited financial statements, and treasury activities.
• Ensure all reports and disclosures meet governmental regulations, professional standards, and organizational policies.
• Participate in special committees, projects, and occasional evening meetings with Headquarters.
• Perform individual contributor tasks such as financial statement preparation, auditing, and query generation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field; MBA preferred.
• CPA, CMA, or equivalent local certification preferred; otherwise, proven ability to work in a complex regulatory environment.
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with general‑ledger accounting systems.
• Advanced Excel and spreadsheet skills.
• Ability to write standard database queries for reporting.
• Experience in treasury management, budgeting, and financial statement preparation.
• Auditing knowledge and compliance expertise.
