Artificial Intelligence Engineer

About the role

AIQ is seeking an Artificial Intelligence Engineer to design, build and optimise scalable data systems and software applications that power its AI‑driven platforms for the energy sector. The role blends data‑engineering expertise with software‑engineering skills and places a strong emphasis on leveraging modern AI coding assistants to accelerate development.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate and use AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Google Gemini) for code generation, refactoring, testing and documentation.
• Design, develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines, handling both structured and unstructured data while ensuring data governance and quality.
• Build scalable, maintainable software components, including APIs, micro‑services and system integrations for AI platforms.
• Participate in architecture decisions, conduct code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software/Data Engineering or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
• Proven experience building production‑grade data pipelines and software systems.
• Familiarity with cloud‑native ecosystems and best practices for data security and compliance.

Required skills

• Programming: Python, Node.js.
• Data engineering: ETL/ELT pipeline design and implementation.
• Software engineering: API development, micro‑services, system integration.
• Experience with AI‑assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, OpenAI Codex or Google Gemini.
