Artificial Intelligence Intern (Remote)

About the role

GE Aerospace Technology & Operations is looking for an Artificial Intelligence intern to work remotely on data and AI solutions used by engineers. The internship is paid, runs during the winter term full-time and the spring term part-time, and includes mentorship from experienced engineers and real project ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Develop technical solutions so engineers can evaluate and adopt data and AI solutions.
• Consult on architecture, implement proof of concepts and deliver solutions for business projects, including data science and machine learning systems.
• Build and present product architectures, write technical code and demo applications to stakeholders.
• Apply the Innovator Method to turn customer insights into solutions with real business value.
• Support team members and build cross-functional relationships.
• Ship solutions to production that meet business needs.

Required profile

• Graduate or current student of a bachelor's degree in computer science, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3.7 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, with strong performance in computer science or other STEM subjects.
• Experience designing AI solutions and architecting distributed data systems.
• Hands-on experience in at least one of: machine learning, large language models (LLMs) or computer vision.
• Experience building solutions on public cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Customer-centric mindset and ability to lead design thinking workshops.
• No prior work experience required.

Required skills

• Programming and debugging in Python, C#, C++ and SQL.
• Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure (certification preferred but not required).
• Data engineering, databases, web design and numerical methods.
