Assembly Lead Technician

About the role

EDGE Group is seeking an Assembly Lead Technician to head day‑to‑day manufacturing operations within an assigned production area. You will ensure safe, efficient, high‑quality execution of production plans for airframe components.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily production execution, meeting safety, quality and delivery targets.
• Supervise, guide and mentor a team of assembly technicians, assigning tasks and monitoring schedules.
• Oversee assembly and integration of airframe components, enforcing quality control procedures and conducting inspections.
• Provide training on assembly techniques, safety protocols and quality standards.
• Maintain detailed records, report performance metrics and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing and Kanban systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Production or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in metallic and composite structure fabrication, assembly and repair.
• Proven problem‑solving and process‑optimization abilities in a high‑pace manufacturing environment.

Required skills

• Metallic and composite structure fabrication/assembly/repair.
• Composites lay‑up build and repair.
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Root‑cause analysis and continuous‑improvement techniques.
• Aerostructure assembly and integration of mechanical/electronic components.
