Asset Manager – Power Generation (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

Terracotta is supporting a leading UAE energy organization in appointing an experienced Asset Manager for a major gas‑fired power generation project under construction. The Asset Manager will act as the owner/shareholder representative, overseeing commercial, financial, operational and governance aspects through construction and into operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor overall commercial, financial, operational, HSE and project performance and prepare monthly asset performance reports for senior management.
• Review project progress against budgets, contractual obligations, milestones and key performance indicators.
• Maintain a strong understanding of key project agreements, including PPA/PWPA and other contracts.
• Analyse financial models, linking assumptions to cash flow, budgets and overall asset performance.
• Support the transition of the asset from construction and commissioning into operations, including onboarding the O&M organisation.
• Monitor key risks, contractual obligations and mitigation actions.
• Coordinate with internal functions such as Project Delivery, Finance, Legal, HSE and technical teams.
• Work closely with operating companies, project partners, contractors and external stakeholders, providing clear reporting and recommendations for shareholder decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Civil), Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in utilities, power generation, energy infrastructure or construction.
• Strong asset management experience within the power or utilities sector, preferably with IPP/IWPP projects.
• Good knowledge of PPA/PWPA arrangements and major project agreements.
• Commercial and contract management capability with ability to interpret financial models.
• Experience managing multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Gas‑fired or conventional power generation experience is strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills and availability to join within one month.
