Assistant Associate Professor in Public International Law

About the role

The College of Law at Abu Dhabi University (ADU) is recruiting Assistant and Associate Professors in Public International Law. ADU is ranked among the top 250 universities worldwide in the 2026 Times Higher Education rankings, and its College of Law is ranked in the top 251-300 globally in the QS World University Rankings by Subject (Law). The college offers a Bachelor of Law, Masters in Public and Private Law, an MLL in Cyber Law and Artificial Intelligence, and a PhD in Law, with programmes taught mainly in Arabic with English support.

Required profile

• A doctoral or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated significant scholarly accomplishments appropriate to the discipline.
• At least eight years of full-time teaching and research experience (with key research publications) for Associate Professor.
• Excellent teaching ability and active engagement with students inside and outside the classroom.
• Willingness to teach in both English and Arabic; English-only applicants are also encouraged to apply.

Required skills

• Communication, teaching and presentation skills.
• Computer skills (MS Office).
• A teaching qualification, or willingness to complete one under the UK HEA Fellowship Scheme.
• Commitment to publishing in Scopus publications and evidence-based engagement with research networks.

Applicants apply online through the University link, in English, with a cover letter, a CV listing education, teaching and research experience and publications (including links to Google Scholar and Scopus), and a two-page research proposal for the next two to four years. Associate Professor candidates must list their top 10 Scopus publications with a five-line explanation for each. Applications are reviewed until 10 December 2025, with interviews afterwards.
