Assistant Associate Professor of Orthodontics

About the role

The College of Dentistry at Ajman University seeks to appoint a highly qualified candidate for a full‑time position in Orthodontics. The successful applicant should demonstrate a strong record of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical supervision, and scholarly research, with a commitment to academic excellence and professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality didactic, pre‑clinical, and clinical teaching in Orthodontics for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
• Contribute to the continuous development and enhancement of orthodontic curricula in line with accreditation and outcome‑based education standards.
• Supervise student research projects and theses, and participate in multidisciplinary research initiatives.
• Contribute to the scholarly output of the College of Dentistry and engage actively in research groups.
• Provide clinical orthodontic services within Ajman University Dental Clinics, ensuring adherence to university policies, professional standards, and patient safety regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery (BDS or DDS).
• PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Orthodontics or a related discipline.
• Structured clinical training and a recognized postgraduate qualification in Orthodontics (e.g., MSc, MDS, Fellowship, or Board Certification) from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated experience in undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching and clinical supervision.
• Proven track record of research, including peer‑reviewed publications.
• Eligibility for professional licensure as an Orthodontist in the UAE and ability to obtain licensure from the UAE Ministry of Health.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
