Assistant / Associate Professor – Pharmacology (Medical Degree)

About the role

The university is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor in Pharmacology to join its College of Medicine. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate medical students and lead research initiatives in medical pharmacology.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and practical sessions on drug action, therapeutics, and rational prescribing within a competency‑based curriculum.
• Design and implement innovative teaching methods such as case‑based learning, prescription‑writing workshops, and simulation‑based pharmacology training.
• Develop and grade assessments that measure student competence and clinical reasoning.
• Supervise and mentor students on academic projects, research theses, and scholarly activities.
• Conduct independent research in areas such as drug discovery, pharmacogenomics, or clinical pharmacology and publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Contribute to curriculum development, accreditation processes, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities.

Required profile

• MBBS degree combined with a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Medical Pharmacology.
• Strong record of publications in indexed scientific journals.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of post‑Ph.D. teaching experience at the university level.

• Expertise in medical pharmacology and related research methodologies.
