Assistant Design Manager / Architect of Record

About the role

Join AESG’s growing multidisciplinary team in Dubai as an Assistant Design Manager and Architect of Record. You will support design management across complex projects while ensuring architectural documentation meets all technical and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support design management activities for multidisciplinary projects, coordinating inputs from architecture, engineering and specialist consultants.
• Act independently as Architect of Record, taking responsibility for the technical accuracy, completeness and code compliance of architectural drawings and specifications.
• Review architectural and multidisciplinary designs for compliance with local authority and permitting requirements (e.g., Dubai Development Authority, DDA).
• Prepare and coordinate submission packages, respond to authority comments and obtain necessary approvals.
• Bridge design intent with regulatory compliance to deliver permit‑ready, construction‑ready documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• Post‑graduate experience in architectural design and design management within the UAE/GCC region.
• Proven experience as an Architect of Record or Design Manager, including successful design approvals through local permitting authorities.
• Strong knowledge of UAE/GCC building codes, local authority regulations and approval processes.
