Assistant Director of Finance

About the role

Raffles Dubai is seeking an Assistant Director of Finance to support the Cluster Director of Finance in overseeing all financial aspects of the hotel’s operations. This senior finance professional will ensure compliance with local and corporate policies while supervising the day‑to‑day activities of the accounting office.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Cluster Director of Finance in preparing the annual budget, FF&E budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Provide accurate and timely financial and management reports to hotel management, corporate office and owners.
• Analyze financial data, interpret variations and communicate findings in a clear manner.
• Ensure sufficient cash flow, approve cash disbursements, rebates, adjustments and allowances in line with policy.
• Verify accruals, journal entries and maintain reconciliations for all balance‑sheet accounts following GAAP.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of all policy and procedure volumes.
• Prepare and oversee the filing of local, state and federal tax returns and related reporting.
• Protect the interests of owners and the management company in all financial matters.

Required profile

• Experience assisting a senior finance leader in a hospitality or luxury hotel environment.
• Proven ability to prepare budgets, forecasts and detailed financial reports.
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting financial data and identifying meaningful operational variations.
• Capability to manage cash flow, approve disbursements and ensure proper documentation.
• Knowledge of accruals, journal entries, reconciliations and generally accepted accounting principles.
• Familiarity with corporate policies, procedures and compliance requirements.
• Experience handling tax compliance and regulatory reporting.
• Commitment to safeguarding owner and company financial interests.
