Assistant Engineering Manager

About the role

The Assistant Engineering Manager supports the Engineering Manager in ensuring the smooth operation of all hotel facilities. Working within Hyatt Place Dubai, Baniyas Square, you will help maintain high standards of safety, comfort, and efficiency for guests and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in daily engineering operations, maintenance programmes and safety compliance.
• Coordinate departmental meetings, shift briefings and maintain accurate records, permits and reports.
• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and resolve issues to satisfaction.
• Support budget preparation, monitor expenses and review purchase requests, quotations and invoices.
• Supervise repair, maintenance and operation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen, laundry and life‑safety equipment.
• Plan and execute the Preventive Maintenance Programme and conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas and plant rooms.
• Ensure fire, life‑safety, emergency and security systems remain operational and compliant with local regulations.
• Monitor utility consumption and promote energy‑conservation initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in hotel engineering, facilities management or a related field.
• Strong understanding of hotel operations and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail for record‑keeping and reporting.
