Assistant General Counsel – Dubai

About the role

Oliver Wyman is seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel to join its Dubai office. The role supports the India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA) region, providing commercial and regulatory legal advice to the firm’s consulting businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior legal counsel on corporate, commercial, regulatory and risk matters across the IMEA region.
• Lead the full contract lifecycle for complex consulting engagements, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating client, vendor, alliance and subcontractor agreements.
• Advise on GCC regulatory compliance, covering financial services, data protection and sector‑specific frameworks.
• Support HR and business leaders on employment law, mobility, investigations and immigration matters.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal and operational risks while enabling business growth.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with several years of experience in commercial and corporate law, preferably within a consulting or professional services environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize high‑volume workloads and deliver practical, solution‑oriented advice.
• Strong understanding of GCC regulatory regimes and cross‑border service delivery.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior business leaders.

Required skills

• Expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts (e.g., services agreements, master services agreements, licensing agreements).
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance matters relevant to the GCC, including data protection and financial services regulations.
• Proficiency in risk assessment and mitigation strategies for consulting engagements.
