Assistant Legal Counsel

About the role

The Assistant Legal Counsel will support the Apparel Group’s legal function across multiple jurisdictions, handling litigation, contracts and regulatory matters. This role requires close collaboration with internal business units and external counsel to protect the Group’s interests in a fast‑moving retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage litigation cases from inception to resolution, including police, criminal and employee disputes, and coordinate external counsel.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts in Arabic and English across retail, real estate, F&B and franchise operations.
• Provide day‑to‑day legal advice to cross‑functional teams on employment, commercial and regulatory matters, and support HR on disputes and labor law compliance.
• Monitor legislative developments in the UAE and GCC, prepare legal updates and assist in maintaining internal policies and compliance frameworks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• 4–7 years of hands‑on legal experience with a strong focus on litigation, dispute resolution and contract work.
• Proven ability to manage police cases, criminal complaints and employment disputes independently.
• Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken, with excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with legal document management systems.
