Assistant Manager, AML Regulatory & Technology

About the role

Our client, a leading banking group in Dubai, is looking for an Assistant Manager to ensure the AML‑CFT, Sanctions and Counter‑Proliferation Financing framework and supporting technology stay aligned with regulatory obligations and best practice.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct gap analysis against new and existing regulatory requirements and drive execution of action plans.
• Serve as primary liaison for AML‑CFT regulatory communications, handling incoming and outgoing notices.
• Own the AML‑CFT issue management tracker, overseeing remediation and escalation.
• Lead periodic testing and tuning of transaction monitoring, sanctions screening and customer risk models.
• Coordinate model validation exercises and report findings to senior stakeholders.
• Strengthen management information reporting and act as SPOC for bank‑wide AML‑CFT projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; ACAMS or similar certification is a plus.
• 5–7+ years of experience in AML regulatory change management, systems testing or financial crime technology.
• Strong knowledge of UAE AML‑CFT, sanctions and proliferation financing regulations.
• Proven stakeholder management and communication skills, with ability to train teams.
• Digitally‑mindset with experience in automation or AI‑driven tools.
