Assistant Manager – Credit Risk (UAE National)

About the role

Emirates NBD is seeking a UAE national to join as an Assistant Manager – Credit Risk. The role focuses on evaluating credit proposals, managing portfolio risk and ensuring compliance with internal policies and UAE Central Bank regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate credit proposals from wholesale banking units and submit risk‑based recommendations to senior management.
• Monitor and maintain the quality of the corporate credit portfolio, including borderline accounts (OLEM/Sub‑standard) to prevent deterioration.
• Ensure all lending proposals comply with Emirates NBD policies and UAE Central Bank regulations.
• Advise business units on managing difficult accounts and track progress of remediation actions.
• Review provisioning for weaker accounts and make recommendations aligned with portfolio health.
• Monitor exceptions, past‑due balances and utilisation limits, and report findings to the Credit Risk team.
• Support ESG initiatives by automating credit‑assessment scorecards within the nCino loan origination system for proposals above AED 50 M.
• Contribute to policy revisions, process improvements and special credit‑risk projects as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field.
• Diploma or certification in banking/finance (e.g., Credit Risk Certification).
• Minimum 3 years of banking experience, including at least 1 year in corporate credit.
• Knowledge of corporate products such as trade finance, treasury, syndications, real‑estate and project finance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IFRS9 governance and reporting.
• Experience using the nCino loan origination system for credit assessment.
