Assistant Manager – Credit Risk (UAE National)

About the role

Emirates NBD is seeking a UAE national to join its Credit Risk team, supporting the bank’s commitment to develop local talent. The role involves evaluating credit proposals, monitoring portfolio health, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and UAE Central Bank regulations. You will work closely with wholesale banking units to manage credit risk and support strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and approve credit proposals from Wholesale Banking, Business Banking, and Private Banking units.
• Set credit limits and delegated approval limits for clients.
• Monitor and review the corporate credit portfolio, focusing on borderline accounts to prevent non‑performing status.
• Provide recommendations for provisioning and risk mitigation for weaker accounts.
• Ensure all lending proposals comply with internal policies and UAE regulatory requirements.
• Analyse documentation changes, liaise with Legal, CRAD and other stakeholders.
• Support ESG initiatives by automating credit scorecards in the loan origination system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, banking or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of banking experience, including at least 1 year in corporate credit.
• Knowledge of corporate products such as trade finance, treasury, syndications, real estate and project finance.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and capacity to work independently while collaborating with senior stakeholders.
