Assistant Manager - Mill Mechanical

About the role

A leading metal and steel manufacturing company in Abu Dhabi, UAE, is hiring an Assistant Manager - Mill Mechanical through its consultant partner. The role covers mechanical maintenance, shutdowns and spare parts coordination for the mill and rolling furnace areas, with authority to execute maintenance and project activities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and run capital, monthly and daily shutdowns and maintenance, arranging materials and manpower
• Ensure critical spare parts are available and coordinate with procurement and vendors
• Reduce downtime and meet MTTR and MTBF targets for mill equipment
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and manage spare parts inventory and service contracts
• Implement TPM, ensure workplace safety and housekeeping, and comply with IMS requirements (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018)
• Enforce PTW, LOTO, risk assessments and PPE; investigate incidents and support emergency preparedness
• Manage contractor safety compliance, participate in IMS audits and drive continuous improvement
• Prepare maintenance budgets, allocate manpower and conduct annual performance appraisals

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (BE) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME)
• 10-15 years of experience in hot rolling mill projects and mechanical maintenance
