Assistant Manager, Operational Risk

About the role

Commercial Bank of Dubai is looking for an Assistant Manager Operational Risk in Dubai. The role supports the implementation and maintenance of the Operational Risk Management framework and identifies, assesses, manages and reports operational risks so that monitoring and compliance are effective across the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Support the department's objectives and implement the bank-approved ORM plan, working closely with the Senior Operational Risk Manager
• Monitor Operational Risk tools such as RCSA, KRIs, SII, incident reporting, risk acceptance and actions across business lines, including new products and outsourced vendors
• Track RCSA actions and ensure they are implemented within the set timeframe
• Help Operational Risk Portfolio Leads govern and monitor risk tools, identify control gaps and propose mitigating controls
• Assist in escalating and recording operational risk events, challenging remedial actions and resolving customer issues quickly to limit reputational damage
• Collect, review and report KRI and risk appetite metrics, and escalate breaches or irregular variances
• Support timely write-off of operational losses through the designated GL, and help recover actual losses and prevent potential ones
• Support the Head of ORM with training and refresher sessions, and provide detailed reports and presentations to management, Audit and the ORM Committee
• Work with vendor relationship owners to align with the Vendor Risk Management policy and CBUAE regulations, and follow up on overdue actions

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree
• 2-3+ years of relevant experience in operational risk, operations or a control function, with working knowledge of Operational Risk Management in a financial institution
